According to Norse mythology, Odin created Embla, the first woman, from the trunk of an elm, and the first man, Ask from a trunk made of ash-wood.

 Anders Ölund makes unique, sculptural furniture and furnishings in his own workshop, tailored to his customers’ wishes.  Ideas are realized, solutions (sometimes totally unexpected!) are developed.  He works together with architects and decorators looking for genuine quality. 

 The preferred raw material is elm, very close to walnut and teak both in looks and in characteristics. The elm trees have grown in and around Laholm, Båstad and Halmstad.

Anders’ never-ending curiosity and inventiveness has resulted in many proprietary products and innovative solutions. Some of them cannot be found in other places on Earth. He uses equipment developed by himself for sawing trunks up to 5 meters and with a diameter of 150 centimeters.

Ölunds Design and Joinery has been located in Ränneslöv, 10 kilometers outside Laholm,  since 1988.
